`The People' circulation dives after they ban Vernon Coleman columns
questioning the war on Iraq
Former readers of The
People might be interested to know that in the six months after Vernon
Coleman had resigned from The People because the editors of the paper had
refused to print columns questioning Blair's War on Iraq, the circulation of
The People fell by around 14%. This was the largest fall in circulation
of any national newspaper in that period.
NB The full story of
Vernon Coleman's resignation from The People appears in his book
`People Push Bottles Up Peaceniks'. (Available from the shop on this
site.)
