Easter is the New Christmas
Am I the only one to have noticed that Easter has become the new Christmas?
Businesses everywhere are now excusing their inability to do the things they’re supposed to be doing by putting the blame on Easter.
‘Oh we can’t do anything this week because of Easter. And we can’t do anything next week either because of the Easter holidays.’
Some businesses appear to have pretty well shut down for the Easter Fortnight and what used to be merely mildly disrupting has now become a major problem.
This is, of course, a peculiarly British problem.
Next month there will be a string of bank holidays and May will be pretty much a write off as far as getting things done is concerned.
And still the so-called experts wonder why productivity in Britain is notably lower than just about anywhere else on the planet.
