Jeremy Corbyn has suggested that Britain should have four more bank holidays. What a brilliant idea. Britain already has the worst productivity in the Western World. And we already take more holidays than any other country. So why not?
But the holidays have to be for a reason.
Here are my suggestions:
St Jeremy’s Day – for the patron saint of the pointless
St Meghan’s Day – for the patron saint of publicity hungry actresses
St Blair’s Day – for the patron saint of the self-obsessed, the greedy and un-convicted war criminals
St Theresa’s Day – for the patron saint of liars, cheats and traitors
And finally, a special bonus holiday
St Adolf’s Day – for Remainers and those who believe in the European Union
