EU Migrants Costing Us A Fortune

Vernon Coleman

Before and during the Referendum campaign, ministers claimed either that no figures were available or that immigrants from Eastern Europe were making the country rich. We were warned that if we left Europe we would become poorer.

It is now clear that these were lies.

The Department for Work and Pensions, the Treasury and HMRC have shown that EU immigrants receive more than £4 billion in benefits.

Moreover, nearly half the personal taxes paid by migrants from Romania, Bulgaria and Poland went straight back to them in child benefits and tax credits.

So, now we know.

The EU immigration policy is enriching big companies who want cheap labour and is providing MPs with cheap nannies and gardeners, but it is costing the rest of us a fortune.
