The ignorant, self-righteous bastards who pointlessly insisted that straws be banned should be prepared for some big lawsuits.
Every summer, people who drink soft drinks from bottles and cans get stung on their mouths by wasps who have found their way into the container.
The stings can – and do – kill children and adults.
Drinking cold drinks through a straw is safer – and can save lives.
Pub and café owners who have dumped straws should think again – if they want to avoid big lawsuits.
I strongly suggest that if you are buying a soft drink to drink outside the house then you insist on being provided with a straw.
Failing that, make sure you carry your own straws with you.
