Sometime this month (September 2025) members of the House of Lords (possibly the most undemocratic and unrepresentative body in the world) will decide whether to approve the Leadbeater Bill to allow doctor-assisted suicide.
The House of Lords can stop this Bill dead in its tracks. It is a private member’s Bill and the Government cannot force the Bill through.
The evidence showing that doctor assisted suicide won’t be painless, dignified or quick is overwhelming.
And you’d have to be naïve and ignorant not to believe that if this Bill is passed then within a short time, doctor-assisted suicide will be available to children, the mentally ill, the poor, the unemployed, the disabled and the elderly.
